My paintings explore the environment. Each series describes a location or a moment; influenced by my Buddhist practice, a poem, a piece of music or nature. The Brazil series appeared after my travels to the Pantanal and Bahia regions of that country. Recently I am searching out a kind of rhythm, exploring color forces that move across wide expanses or sink mysteriously into pools of dark quiet. These new abstract colorist works describe sound, wind, gravity, and the pulsating of life itself.
